I was hired by BBL in 1997 as the programmer of the Raroc team of the Credit Risk Management department. Since 1997 I was the only software developer of the Raroc team of BBL.
Raroc, Risk Adjusted Revenues On Capital, calculates the ‘adjusted’ revenues of the clients of the bank. These ‘adjusted’ revenues are equal to the credit revenues of the client minus an amount that represents the default risk, bankruptcy risk, of every client. Statistical algoritms are used to calculate the amount that represents the default risk.
